and I, an expectant American liberal, am listening. I too hope that Obama's expressions aren't just that. Can America change, truly change, from a dominating empire to a peaceloving, decent, soft-spoken nation? We'll see.

man alone cannot change the destiny of a nation" is so true especially in a democriatic nation. I fear that the country will end up not supporting OBAMA even if he tries to change its horrendous foreign and military policies.
Soft spoken? You mean like Canada or Iceland? No, that's not in even our best nature. Our saving grace and best hope lies not in transmogrification into Mr. Rogers, but in the fact that Americans would rather have iPhones and flat screen TVs than world domination. The latter was Bush's stupid idea, along with his buddies in skull & bones and the asshat Neocons.
A description of Erik's novel, Gaviota, is set forth on Amazon's website for the book. Use Gaviota, a novel, or Erik O'Dowd in Amazon's books search engine to locate the novel. Also, information about the novel can be found at Erik's website: www.erikodowd.com.
